During the migration and launch we followed a careful tried and tested process to ensure that only a minimal impact was made to the sites existing organic performance in search engines. Retaining as much ‘Google-juice’ as possible is significantly aided by creating server-side rules for each of the old page URL’s to the new page structure to reduce any chance of seeing 404 error messages, and also by maintaining a similar structure and content.
